What You’ll Learn
- How and what today’s leaders are learning in real-world leadership development programs.
- Where skills gaps exist across leadership levels (e.g., from high-potential employees to executives).
- How organizations are approaching growing their current leaders as well as nurturing tomorrow’s leadership talent.
Why We Did the Research
Despite the turbulence of the business environment over the past several years, the core aspects of leadership — the competencies and skills that make for productive interactions with both employees and stakeholders — have remained the same. In this research, we hoped to highlight some of those constant elements while also bringing awareness to the diverse experiences in leadership development. In effect, leadership development is not “one size fits all,” and leaders and managers at different levels have diverse learning needs as well as divergent dispositions toward leadership training efforts. Armed with such insights, training managers and L&D stakeholders can make more informed decisions, allowing them to better address the current and future leaders for their organizations.
Why It Matters
This research offers valuable insights into the current state of leadership training and its impact on organizations. It provides a roadmap for organizations to develop effective leaders at all levels. By understanding the nuances of leadership development, embracing a tailored approach and adapting to the evolving needs of the modern workplace, organizations can cultivate a strong leadership pipeline that drives sustainable success.
